The Erasmus+ Project “Transforming Business Education with AI in the Western Balkans(TBEAI)” Officially Launched
At the beginning of December 2025, a two-day kick-off meeting of the international Erasmus+
Capacity Building in Higher Education (CBHE) project Transforming Business Education with AI
in the Western Balkans (TBEAI) was held in Durrës, Albania. The meeting marked the official
launch of a regional initiative aimed at transforming business education through the ethical,
innovative, and effective integration of artificial intelligence in higher education.
The project is coordinated by Aleksander Moisiu University of Durrës and implemented in
partnership with higher education institutions from the European Union and the Western
Balkans, including University of Ljubljana, Santarém Polytechnic University, Western Balkans
University, University of Banja Luka, International Burch University, University for Business and
Technology, and AAB College, with the support of the associated partner Metanow.

The meeting brought together academic representatives and project leaders from all partner
institutions to align a shared vision, strategic objectives, and the overall implementation
approach of the project. Discussions focused on the need to modernize business study
programmes, strengthen entrepreneurial competences, and equip students with skills related
to the practical and responsible use of artificial intelligence.
During the first day, the overall project framework was presented, including its main objectives,
target groups, and expected impact at institutional and regional levels. Particular attention was
given to the role of AI in enhancing teaching quality, fostering pedagogical innovation, and
strengthening the link between higher education and the labour market.
The second day focused on operational aspects of implementation, including the project
structure, work packages, governance mechanisms, quality assurance, and reporting
procedures. Partners discussed concrete steps for the development of innovative curricula, the
implementation of master’s programmes, and strategies for dissemination and exploitation of
project results.
The meeting concluded with agreements on first-year activities, internal deadlines, and project
governance structures. All partners reaffirmed their commitment to close cooperation and to
advancing AI-enabled business education across the Western Balkans.
